The statue of racing driver Juan Manuel Fangio with his 1950s Mercedes-Benz W196 car stands behind La Rascasse in Monaco, on what is the final corner of the Monaco Grand Prix circuit. La Rascasse corner, the tight 135 degree right-hand bend on the Monaco Grand Prix circuit, is located on Quai Antoine 1er at Port Hercule. Named after La Rascasse restaurant on the same corner, it was added in 1973 when the race circuit underwent a major modification after the Rainier III Nautical Stadium was built on the harbor.
