The house from where the popular British breakfast television show The Big Breakfast was broadcast during its original run from 1992 to 2002 was located at Old Ford Lock on Fish Island in Bow, East London.
Built in 1947, the house was originally three separate cottages where the lock keepers, toll takers, and navigation operators of the Old Ford Locks would have lived.
The Grade II listed property was converted for use as a TV studio for the launch of The Big Breakfast, an early-morning light entertainment television show broadcast on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom. Originally presented by Chris Evans and Gabby Roslin, between 1992 and 1996 the show attracted significant audiences for its time slot was the highest-rated UK breakfast television programme at its peak in 1993.
