Rapper, businessman and community activist Nipsey Hussle was shot dead on March 31st, 2019, outside the Marathon Clothing store he co-owned in a neighborhood strip mall at Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard in South Los Angeles.
The 33-year-old, whose real name was Ermias Joseph Asghedom, was taken to hospital where he was declared dead. Eric Holder, reportedly known to Hussle, was arrested and charged with his murder.
Hussle released his first mixtape, Slauson Boy Volume 1, in 2005, when he was 20 years old, and other mixtapes followed, including the Bullets Ain’t Got No Name series during 2008 and 2009. In 2010, he founded his own record label, All Money In, and received a Grammy nomination for his 2018 debut studio album, Victory Lap. His collaborations include tracks with hip hop artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Ty Dolla Sign, and DJ Khaled.
