    Edmonton Oilers ice hockey forward Colby Cave died, aged 25, on April 11th, 2020 at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. He suffered a stroke after undergoing emergency surgery to remove a colloid cyst that was causing pressure on his brain, and had been placed in a medically-induced coma. The Battleford, Saskatchewan native joined the Boston Bruins’ organization for the 2014-15 season as an undrafted free agent after five seasons in the WHL with the Swift Current Broncos. He played for Boston’s AHL affiliate team, the Providence Bruins, before making his NHL debut with Boston against the Winnipeg Jets in December 2017 after being recalled on an emergency basis. After the Edmonton Oilers claimed Cave off waivers in January 2019, he played 44 games for them and 44 games for their AHL affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors. Cave had four goals and five assists over 67 NHL games with Boston and Edmonton and played his final NHL game for the Oilers on February 21st, 2020 against the Minnesota Wild.
