Auburn University uses private cleaning crews to remove the toilet paper hanging from the trees at Toomer’s Corner after the Auburn fans’ tradition of ‘rolling’ to celebrate a win by the university’s sports teams.
After a team victory, two live oak trees standing at the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and College Street have long been a gathering point on campus for Auburn fans who throw rolls of toilet paper into the trees such that the unrolled paper drapes the branches.
In the early hours of the morning after a rolling, cleaning crews are deployed to remove all toilet tissue, litter and trash from trees, shrubs and on the ground using a combination of hand picking and spraying with water.
