John Lennon was fatally shot four times at the entrance to The Dakota, his apartment building at West 72nd Street and Central Park West in New York City, on the evening of December 8th, 1980. The former Beatle was taken by police car to Roosevelt Hospital but died due to massive internal hemorrhaging.
