Where do the Humboldt Broncos play?

Last updated March 23, 2021 by ZagBot Comment

The Humboldt Broncos junior ice hockey team plays its home games at the Elgar Petersen Arena (or EPA) in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada.

The Broncos, who play in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, were founded in 1970 and originally played at the city’s Leo Parker Arena before moving in 1982 to the new Uniplex Arena. In September 2000, the arena was renamed for Elgar Petersen, a long-time resident of Humboldt who supported and volunteered for the Broncos and other community causes.

On April 8, 2018, the Elgar Petersen Arena hosted the vigil following the accident involving the team bus near Armley, Saskatchewan that killed sixteen people and injured thirteen others, most of whom were Humboldt Broncos players. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attended.
