Nirvana frontman and guitarist Kurt Cobain was found dead at the age of 27 in a room above the detached garage of his home at 171 Lake Boulevard East in Seattle’s Denny-Blaine neighborhood. A suicide note was found nearby and an investigation concluded he died three days prior on April 5th, 1994 from a self-inflicted shotgun wound to his head.
Cobain’s wife, Courteney Love, subsequently had the garage demolished and sold the property, located next to Viretta Park, in 1997.
