Where did Ian Curtis die?

Joy Division lead singer Ian Curtis died at his home on Barton Street in Macclesfield, Cheshire on 18th May 1980, aged 23 years old.

Curtis committed suicide in the early hours of the morning by hanging himself using a washing line in the kitchen of the house.

Joy Division had been due to leave the UK that day for the band’s tour of the United States.
