When was the Britannia Bridge fire?

Britannia Bridge was engulfed by fire on the evening of 23 May 1970 and suffered extensive structural damage. At the time a railway bridge, it was substantially rebuilt over the following ten years to carry both rail and road traffic over the Menai Strait.
