The town of Wertheim in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, sits at the the confluence of the rivers Tauber and Main.
The Tauber runs northwards into Wertheim, flowing into the river Main which runs from east to west through the town.
From there, the Main continues in a northwesterly direction towards Frankfurt and eventually flows into the river Rhine, some 90 kilometres (or 56 miles) to the northwest, near the city of Mainz.
