Is there a train station at Rome Fiumicino airport?

Last updated September 26, 2020 by ZagBot Comment

The railway station connected to Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci Airport (also called Fiumicino Airport) is around a 10 to 15-minute walk after baggage reclaim, following the overhead signs for ‘Trains’.

Two train services operate between Fiumicino Airport and Rome city center:

  • The Leonardo Express non-stop airport service to and from Rome’s Termini Station with a journey time of just over 30 minutes.
  • The cheaper FL1 Treno Regionale to and from other Rome stations, including Tiburtina, Tuscolana, Ostiense and Trastavere, but not Termini.

Tickets may be purchased online, at the in-airport ticket desk, at news stands, or from the convenient self-service Trenitalia green and white ticket machines which take cash and cards.

All tickets, other than e-tickets, must be stamped by inserting them into the small green and white validation machines near the platforms before boarding the train. Tickets are valid for 90 minutes from validation on any train of the same service. The fine for an unvalidated ticket is 50 euro.
