Vail allows snowboarding on all of its trails.
The Colorado ski resort has plenty of varied terrain to suit all ability levels of snowboarding and offers two freestyle terrain parks: Golden Peak located under the Riva Bahn chairlift, and Avanti Park, which is focused on beginners.
Vail first allowed snowboarders on the mountain for the 1988-89 season, following a short trial period at the end of the 1987-88 ski season. The resort has hosted the Burton US Open Snowboard Championship since 2013.
