How did Christmas Tree Point get its name?

Last updated July 26, 2019 by ZagBot Comment

Christmas Tree Point in San Francisco is where a large illuminated Christmas tree was erected annually from 1927 for a few years by a local group that included the San Francisco Examiner newspaper and other community organizations. The name endured and the promontory on the northeast edge of Twin Peaks is a popular vantage point with views over the city.
