Does Stanford have a radio station?

Last updated April 5, 2021 by ZagBot Comment

KZSU is Stanford University’s radio station, broadcasting to the campus and wider Bay Area on 90.1 MHz FM and streaming online. The station broadcasts a mix of music, sports, news and public affairs programming, including live sports coverage of Stanford games and simulcasts of Palo Alto City Council meetings.

Owned by the Board of Trustees of Stanford University, KZSU is a non-commercial station funded mainly by student fees, with additional support from underwriting and listener donations. It is run by volunteers made up of Stanford students, staff, alumni, and community locals, and its Advisory Board appoints a station General Manager from the student body each year to serve for a period of 12 months.

KZSU broadcasts from a studio in the basement of Memorial Auditorium, near the Pigott Theater entrance, and its 500-watt transmitter is located near the Stanford Dish.
