Denver Water prohibits swimming, scuba diving, water skiing and other any other activities that involve direct human contact with the water at Dillon Reservoir in Colorado.
With an elevation of 9,017 feet (or 2,748 meters) above sea level, Lake Dillon’s water is cold year-round, ranging from 45 to 65°F (or 7 to 18°C), and generally considered too cold to safely permit people to directly enter the lake.
However, activities such as stand-up paddleboarding, and windsurfing with a full body wet or dry suit are allowed.
