Are 3-axle commercial trucks allowed both ways through the Hugh L Carey Tunnel in New York City?

Last updated September 8, 2023 by ZagBot Comment

Trucks with three axles or greater are permitted to use the Hugh L Carey Tunnel, also known as the Brooklyn–Battery Tunnel, Battery Tunnel or Battery Park Tunnel, which connects Red Hook in Brooklyn with the Battery on the southern tip of Manhattan, New York City.

Operated by MTA Bridges and Tunnels, the Hugh L Carey Tunnel is tolled in both directions using open road cashless tolling and accepts E-ZPass.

Note that the Hugh L Carey Tunnel has a height restriction of 12 foot 1 inches (or 3.68 meters).
